Assessment 2: Group presentation Worth 40% towards the final grade

This assignment requires you to make a group presentation in class, on the 26th May 2017 (refer to health policy workshop agenda for schedules), it is worth 40% of the health policy unit assessments.
The task: You are working for the government reform group which has been asked by the government to analyse existing policy responses and propose alternative policy options.
Choose ONE of the following questions for your topic.
1. People are living longer: What are the alternative policy options that the government need to consider to address health implications resulting from the rising ageing indian population?
Develop a PPT presentation around current government policy responses to the above health issues and alternative policy strategies which you are proposing for government to consider adopting. Your presentation needs to address the following:
1. Advocacy strategy: Develop an action plan of how you will influence the government to adopt your proposed alternative policy options. As part of your action plan, identify key stakeholders who you intend to engage with, explain why you think they are important and how you intend to engage with them for a successful advocacy
2. Conclusion: provide a convincing argument to persuade the government to adopt the alternative policy options which you are proposing. For example, you will need to address the question, “what will be the implications (population health and health system) if the government does not adopt your propositions?
Develop a 15 Minutes PPT presentation (your presentation will last for a maximum of 20 minutes, 15 minutes is for your group presentation and 5 Minutes is for questions). The presentation requirements for students is as follows;
• Students will work in groups (during the first 2 day-workshops).
• All the groups will present to the class on the last day of the workshops on the 25th May 2017.
• Every group member must take part in the actual presentation
• All students will be allocated the same mark on condition that they contribute sufficiently to the presentation. All group members must be present throughout the workshop days including the last day of presentations. Following the presentations, each student is required to submit a copy of the presentation on Black Board for grading and record purposes.
Preparation for the presentation: Work as a team and use the BB tools jointly draft the PPT slides. Meet at least twice before the next workshop on the 25th May 2017 and bring a draft presentation for the afternoon session of the 25th May.
The assignment is due on the 30th May 2017 at 11:59PM WST
